PeachyKeen19 What to wear to a Broadway show? Jun 1, 2011 9:36 AM Hi everyone! I'm going to see a musical this June and I need help planning an outfit. I don't like to dress too casually when I go to a theatre because I think it's kind of an opportunity to dress up for once, however, I never know what to wear and I don't plan far enough ahead to really figure it out. So, I basically end up in "dressy jeans" (IE dark denim) and some top ...total fail.  Recently, I made plans to see West Side Story and I'm taking my sister with me and it will be her first Broadway show. We both want to look good and make an event of it (because it is so an event!) What should we wear? Where do we start? I think I'd want to wear a dress, if it were fall I'd combine it with tights nd/or a scarf to accesorize or something. But it's summer and I don't know anything about this theatre's air conditioning and we may also go out for dessert after the show. My sis is at a loss too she keeps asking me "what do people wear to see a show?" I think I want to wear something that evokes the show, you know, won't make us feel out of place...dressy but not TOO dressy and we are on a budget. Maybe nothing over $100. Any ideas?
